Bio
Formed in 1968 in Lakewood, Ohio, Bridge was fronted by the talented black female vocalist Judy Spencer and backed by Denny Earnest: guitar & vocals, Billy Earnest: B3 & piano, Al Dennis: bass, and Bob Bensick: drums. Bridge made a huge splash on the scene with their Bluesy Rock vibe, which proved to be a perfect match for sharing the stage with some of the era’s biggest stars. In 1968 they performed with Canned Heat and MC- 5 at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit. They opened for Jeff Beck (with Rod Stewart, Ron Wood) at the LaCave in Cleveland, and both BB King and Blood Sweat & Tears (with Al Cooper) at the Grande Ballroom in Cleveland. The group also opened for Tim Buckley and John Mayall (Mayall actually joined the band on piano for a couple of tunes). Bridge recorded extensively but never landed a major deal. However, the band’s great body of work now resides at Fervor Records.
