Prior to joining NRBQ and writing a string of hit songs for country artists like Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, and Tim McGraw, Al Anderson led the Norfolk, Connecticut band, The Wildweeds.

Joining Al were Andy Lepak (drums), Ray Zeiner (keyboards), Bob Dudek (bass) and Martin “Skip” Yakaitis (percussion) in the band’s definitive lineup.

During the group’s career in the mid 1960s through the early 70s, The Wildweeds achieved notability and plenty of radio airplay with their 60s pop meets blue-eyed soul songs “I Had a Girl” and “No Good to Cry.” The Wildweeds’ singles were released by several prestigious labels including Chess Records, Chess imprint Cadet Concept, and Vanguard. Anderson left The Wildweeds in 1971 to join NRBQ for whom he was lead guitar player for 22 years and was BMI’s songwriter of the year in 2000. The Wildweeds come to Fervor Records via our good friends at Trod Nossel Productions.
