Bio
Formed in Nashville, Tennessee the early 1980’s Prog/Rock outfit Sunfield dubbed their music “Cosmic Rock” and set out to rock the world. The band featured Kurt Barkdull (drums, guitar, piano, vibraphone), Louis Nunley Jr. (keyboards) and brothers Dennis Ewen (bass) and Alan Ewen (guitar). All four talented musicians contributed vocals, which is quickly evident in the group’s lush harmonies. In 1982 Sunfield teamed with renowned producer/engineer Tom Tatman at Tatman’s Catamount Studios in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The result was the epic ten-song LP, Funsield. The album originally found release on popular radio host, musician, and music impresario Bob Dorr’s Hot Fudge Records and the band hit the road in support of the release. The record is a highly sought after piece of vinyl to this day. 40 years after the band’s singular release Fervor Records discovered Sunfield and are now proud to perpetuate the band’s incredible contribution to Cosmic Rock. As the band’s closing number on Side 2 aptly states, Sunfield’s Forever!
