Gentle, Country Rock songs about the Lord with a touch of Dire Straits in the mix set Sonrise apart from many 1980s contemporary Christian artists. The group formed in Springfield, Massachusetts in the early 80s and centered around guitarists Kirk Creswell and Charles Howard with Margaret Creswell joining them on keyboards, drum machine, and eventually standup bass. The Creswells created some excellent vocal harmonies, as well, especially on songs like “Touch The One” and “What Road.”
