Pinto and the Bean

Paul Taneja and Ivan Gaona make up Pinto and the Bean; and these two certainly provide a big sound for two guys who met via a musician’s listing on Craigslist. Gaona had been part of a successful band in Mexico, Cabrito Vudú, who were signed to Sony Records prior to moving to Chicago and meeting Taneja. Paul Taneja had found success as a solo artist, whose self-titled album was previously released on Fervor Records in 2007.

Pinto and the Bean has a slightly fuzzy, indie rock/alternative pop sound with just enough power to please a grunge fan and the requisite polish to please those who prefer the poppier side of alternative rock. Their album, The Waiting Place, is a must listen for fans of great alternative music.
