The multi-talented Mike McFadden has been making music since the early 1960s. Starting out in Phoenix, AZ Mike played Rock n’ Roll and Surf covers to adoring high school audiences. By the mid 1960s his band The Mile Ends were packing local clubs and releasing singles that quickly climbed the local AM radio charts. Mike’s musical direction continued to expand with the formation of the successful Psychedelic outfit Super Fine Dandelion. Next up was Chief Root Wizard who shared the stage with icons such as Janis Joplin. The talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist was also recording his introspective, soul searching music as a solo artist. By the 1970s Mike relocated to Los Angeles forming the band Elton Duck with fellow Phoenician Mike Condello and bassist Micki Steele (The Runaways, The Bangles). The band were regulars at major LA venues including The Troubadour, Madam Wong’s, and Hong Kong Cafe. Soon legendary A&R man Bud Scoppa spotted the group, ultimately inking a major label deal with Arista Records. After the demise of Elton Duck in 1981, Mike went on to form The Truly Desperate. The band hit the LA studios to record more of McFadden’s compelling compositions. Fervor Records is now proud to be home to much of the music from Mr. Mike McFadden and his associated bands.
